The D.
Fitzgerald's.
It is possible this is the single greatest property in the history of Las Vegas.
When I first moved to Vegas right out of college in 2009 - I lived at the Gold Spike Motel initially (in $9 a night room while the property was being renovated), so I used to walk over to Fremont Street pretty much every night.
A lot of my core memories of Vegas™ happened at Fitzgerald's (now the D) - so this place is always going to have a special place in my heart!
You know, the Blarney Stone, from Detroit.
$292
Notice the good luck charm - hey it ain't stupid if it works!
Or at least it worked that one time.
That's all the confirmation bias I need.
One day "win Derek's truck", one day...
That's $.51 if you're keeping track.
I almost win (but don't), a lot.
Like more than a normal amount.
Favorite Memory: Hotel Stay
Pretty standard room for Fremont Street.
I feel like you roll the dice in Fremont Street Hotels - you never know what you're going to get.
Always a relief when it's a decent enough quality of room, like this one was!
This was an exact fortune for us, exactly when we needed it!
Ok, but how much though, I feel like this is important information...
The best kind of spins!
Well, that's not nothin'!
Millioni$er me, please.
One day Megabucks, one day...
Can't stop.
Won't stop.
Been here before.
51 spins doesn't mean anything, since you don't win on the average spin.
I've had as many as like 60+ spins and literally won $5 on it.
Not from here though.
Usually I do pretty good here.
Favorite Memory: American Coney Island
It's actually a surprisingly good dog, great fries too!
Bacon Nation.
Pro tip - skip the Bacon there.
Their "chocolate covered bacon" is literally a big fat chunk of gross bacon covered in Hersey's Chocolate Syrup. It's whack. And super expensive.
But it did inspire us to go on a "Bacon Flight" rabbit hole, where we'd make Turkey Bacon at home and add a bunch of stuff to it, Everything Bagel Seasoning, or Brown Sugar Maple, or Lemon Pepper, etc. and we did that for several weeks after eating here, so in a way their bacon being so bad inspired us.
So that was fun.
It's cool when your best friend since 5th grade, that you met on the playground just pointing at people and laughing, lives with you at the Gold Spike Motel for a month in a $9 a night room, falls asleep on a bench inside the McDonald's at the D, and uses a water bottle as a pillow, while you go play $1 blackjack for a few hours and come back and he's still sleeping there.
But it's even cooler when you get to experience Vegas with your wife.
That's the real "Big Win".
Shanghai-5.
Who else could you trust to save the world?
They knew what they were doing.
Favorite Memory: Casper
I don't wanna.
That's good, right?
Ok that's definitely good.
Sometimes all the mystic elements™ just align.
Favorite Memory: Bumble Contest Bliss
See the "Bumble Contest" tab of this website for more info!
Of course we had to spend some time at the D, it's one of my favorite places in the world all of Las Vegas!
It's the only game you can play in Vegas when the chips are down.
Shut up Meg.
Bar Canada.
More of all of this, please.
Really, really, really Pig Win? $100
Man I'd hate to see a really, really, really, really Pig Win - that might be $106!
It didn't pay me $300.
Would be cool if it did though!
