Nevada Chicken Cafe
Nevada Chicken Cafe.
Formerly known as the Nevada Chicken Roastery.
Or Nevada Chicken N Ribs.
Try to keep it up.
No matter what you call it - downright tasty. And the best ribs I've ever had.
Nutriente Pastry Studio
Went around Halloween, had to go for the Chocolate Skull, obviously.
Really high quality, fancy, seasonal, desserts - this was a mango coconut mango and it was phenomenal.
Honestly I'd put the quality here on par with Dominique Ansel, if not better.
And that's saying something!
Peppermill
Alright here it is, everybody wants the "Hidden Gem" of Las Vegas, this is it.
Hidden in plain sight, right next to a 4 billion dollar property (Resorts World), and a 5 billion dollar property (Circus Circus, wtf?) - that's how much Phil Ruffin wants to sell it for anyway, apparently.
Anyway, this place is like stepping into a time machine. It's got the vibe, the Fireside Lounge, some of the best drinks I've had in Vegas, huge portions, all around might be the pre-eminent Hidden Gem of Las Vegas, if you ask me.
This place is a vibe. I'd been coming to Vegas for like 15 years before ever stepping foot in here. That's how "Hidden" of a Gem it is! I never even knew it existed. But I'm glad I know now!
Pro tip: If you sit in the conversation pit in the Fireside Lounge, you'll feel like you're at your rich friends hot tub when you were a teenager!
Big Riviera vibes - but that makes sense, because the Riviera used to be right next door!
The DJ for the lounge (TV's).... has very..... eclectic tastes in music.
We'll just say that.
Pioneer Saloon
Stop by for the drinks. Not the food. But the drinks. About 30 minutes from The Strip - which btw did you know was named after the "Sunset Strip" in West Hollywood LA? Well, now you know!
Revived Slots
Rosalie Le French Cafe
They've got the French cuisine / pastry thing down pat.
One of the top places in Vegas, for sure.
She's not mad. That's just how she is.
Saw Escape Room
They say if you think you're in the wrong place here, you're in the right place.
Some spooky mood lighting (clouds).
Also, make sure you go to Sliced Pizza if you do SAW Escape Room!
When you leave the Escape Room, there is a door on the right side, next to this tent!
I think you get 20% off your order if you come in through that door and mention you did the Escape Room.
They have an awesome black crust (Charcoal) pizza called "Murder Pie" - you can also get it by the slice - it's super fun!
I've never seen any of the Saw movies - so I'm in here with literally no idea what's going on.
I think the Egan Meat thing is just some sort of cover for the horrors that lie beneath!
When has that ever stopped me before?
We're in the shit now folks!
Literally all the rooms were waaaayyyyy to difficult to solve. I think our group solved like 2 out of 9 rooms or something like that.
I don't think not knowing about the movies made a difference, the rooms were just unrealistically difficult to escape.
Is that the point of Saw, I guess?
All the Egan Productions stuff is INSANELY well made, like actual movie set quality.
Real heavy iron gates, cages, actual solid props, real glass, etc.
We've done Escape IT, John Wick, SAW, etc. and they are all phenomenal quality of materials.
Feels like you're in the actual movies.
Not that you'd want to be in the SAW movies though. No thank you. Too scary.
We did it, we survived!
I thought a "Reverse-Beartrap" meant something else entirely.
Silver 7's
Silverton
Sliced Pizza
And Caesars tries to charge you $75 to pick a window seat in their restaurants?
They got nothin' on this view!! Or these (super reasonable) prices!
Slot Car City
A fun old-school way to spend an hour, for a couple bucks, with 2 gigantic race tracks.
Snappy Burger (Drive-In Movies)
Super cool concept - you drive in, order your food, pull around and park in front of the drive-in movie screen where they show a completely free movie on loop multiple times throughout the day.
They run movies for about a week, then the next week, same format, different movie.
Snappy's is one of those actual Vegas "hidden gems" everyone is so obsessed with!
Really nothing else like it in town, a cool retro-throwback vibe, super reasonable prices (like $4.61 for a huge bag of tasty popcorn, etc.), fun promotions - overall just a great unique Vegas experience that I would highly recommend.
We saw Jumanji - Welcome to the Jungle.
Another cool thing about Snappy's is that they film their own cheesy little promos that go along with some of the movies.
For this movies they had a little mini-movie they filmed starring their staff, and the promotion was if you bring a "jungle animal" with you (pet), you get a free popcorn!
They have a designated radio station that you tune into so you can hear movie's audio in your car.
Fun fact: We checked after the movie, and the signal broadcasts out for about 1 mile.
The aforementioned tasty popcorn.
The Fries. They're French!
Snappy Burger - actually pretty solid.
We saw about 20 cars come through the Drive-Thru within about the first hour of our movie.
Lots of cars came through just for the (reasonably priced) burgers. Some people sat for 10 minutes to eat, some for the whole movie, and everything in between.
Stage Door Casino
Tarantino's Vegan
Small, but mighty.
Vegan "Crab Cakes" - which is great, because I don't like crab.
I'm the opposite of ever person you've ever seen in a casino buffet.
Vegan Lasagna
Vegan Steak.
Now this was totally mind-blowing.
It's made from a large mushroom stem called Mycelium - you can find it here: Meati Vegan Steak
That company's slogan is: "The Best Food You Can Eat" - and they're right.
Google the nutrition on this item it is insanely good nutrition (a little salty, but overall phenomenal), if you're into that sort of thing!
Plus you're saving an animal when you make this simple, and tasty substitution, it's a Win-Win.
The Farm and Animal Sanctuary
The Mint Tavern
The place is smaller than I thought. Nicer than I thought. Cleaner than I thought.
They said they get a lot of business for people waiting for their Golden Steer reservation time, so they stop in before while they wait.
Best video poker I've ever seen in Vegas as well - the machines are actually capable of winning, which was surprising!
The Vault Bicycle Shop
T-Mobile Arena
Goes together like nachos and basketball.
Tuscany
Zia Records
Zia Records - a super solid Vintage store, right here in Las Vegas!
If they don't have it, you don't need it.
