Probably one of the most iconic properties in Las Vegas.
It's old-school, it's not corporate, it has a charm to it that they couldn't replicate today - even if they tried.
There's an honesty about the experience at 4 Queens.Â
It's almost like you're stepping back in time.Â
Like stepping into another era of Vegas - where the drinks are cheap, the gambling is fair, and the clientele reflected their desert surroundings; hard-bitten.
Oh and the best part? It's named after the owner's 4 daughters, not the playing cards.
Isn't that cool?
Favorite Memory - Bumble Bliss:Â
In 2014 this dating app launched called Bumble. That's where my wife and I met back in 2017. It stood out because on the app, the girl has to message first. So we meet, and then get married about 4 months later (in Vegas of course!)
In the summer of 2024, to celebrate it's 10 year anniversary, the app has this contest for free weddings (or vow renewals) for people who met on the app.
So of course we enter the contest, thinking if this wasn't made for us (and our love of all things Vegas), then I don't know WHO it's made for.Â
We end up winning the contest! And we join about 30 other couples who get this all-inclusive trip to Vegas (which includes things like free airfare for you and 2 guests, free hotels at Encore, free limos, free ceremony, free professional photos, with Elvis himself, free photo books, stories on their website and People Magazine, a lavish private party at Encore for the winners, etc.).Â
Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
More details on that later.
Anyway that night, after the ceremony, we head to Fremont and of course there's one place that comes to mind when you think "Old-School, Vintage Vegas" - the 4 Queens.
We have an amazing fun night, I say I'm going to play every game in their "High-Limit" area (the dollar machines across from the cashier's cage), and I literally win on every. single. game. So I keep going back to our friends and showing them the voucher amount getting progressively larger and larger.Â
John forgets his phone on one of the slot machines across from the bar, we get all the way outside before he realizes it, run back inside, and it's still there right where he left it! (probably one of the luckiest things that can happen in Vegas?)
Silver Strike coins are involved. It's a total blast.
And we were tied with one other couple for the longest tenured relationship from the app. It was so cool to combine my 2 true loves, my wife, and Las Vegas.
Favorite memory - It's 2024 and you can win this BRAND NEW 2013 Shelby GT350!
If that doesn't sum up EVERYTHING about Las Vegas, I don't know what does.
This same car literally sat for 10+ years in that bank of slot machines at the front door, "any spin can win" kind of thing.
It wasn't until 2024 they finally replaced it with a 2021 Ford F150. Cheap asses.
BTW, they had to also include $35,000 cash when they switched it to the truck, because a few people won the car, but they opted to take the cash because they couldn't pay the taxes on free car.Â
Couldn't pay the taxes, but they got slot machine money at 4 Queens.Â
God bless America.Â
Oh, and now you have to Max Bet to win the car, instead of any bet can win.Â
Cheap asses.
Favorite memory - Noble Roman's:Â
What even is this restaurant? Do they have other locations? Is this the only one in the world? Why do you have to go half-way upstairs to some secret nook that feels like you're overlording the casino to get there?
One of the of those strange, liminal, only-in-Vegas experiences.Â
I love everything about it.
Wouldn't ever recommend eating the pizza though, not with the best pizza in the world (Pizza Rock) just a few steps away.Â
Favorite memory - If I bonus right now I will literally spit out my drink:
Said it, did it. What about it?
