Virgin.
Mohegan Sun.
Hard Rock.
Whatever you want to call it.
It's that one resort like a mile from the Strip that people don't really go to.
It's been in a lot of pop culture, movies, music videos, etc.
So it has potential, it's just one of those places in Vegas that's always struggled to figure out its identity.
So they did what all casinos do - try to appeal to the Southern California crowd.
Isn't that the answer/solution to all questions/problems in the world? Rich people from Southern California?
Definitely seems that way!
Favorite Memory: Kitchen Brunch
We did the all-you-can-eat Brunch, it was decent. Kind of like a glorified hotel continental breakfast. Some ingredients are packaged (but unwrapped), some are fresh.
A lot of places in Vegas got rid of buffets - but brought back "all-you-can-eat brunch", it's a weird concept. I don't really understand the difference. They are both "buffets" to me.
And word to the wise - they do add auto gratuity (which I get for a buffet since sometimes people don't tip at all), how do they know I wouldn't want to tip more? Or less, based on service? I get it since visitation is down overall, but just be aware it's not $22 a person it's like $26 a person.
Check the "Food" tab of this website for a list of places offering AYCE Brunch.
Like Pokémon - I want to try them all, obviously.
Saw a guy literally take pretty much that entire plate of melon.
Like buddy I understand it's a buffet, but it's food.
You've seen food before, right?
Would you eat an entire melon in one sitting at home?
I actually interviewed for a job at Everi a few years ago.
But they never followed up with me after. Said they weren't ghosting me.
Still waiting on that answer!
Favorite Memory: Pizza Forte
My current 3rd favorite pizza in Las Vegas (Pizza Rock, Emmy's Pizza at Swinger's Mandalay Bay, then this)
This one has a nice sourdough aspect going on, high quality toppings, flavorful (canned - Tomato Magic, sauce), good cripsy crust, etc.
Although last time I went they seemed to change the quality (worse), and it's like $9 a slice now, which is crazy.
Like most slices in Vegas it is basically 2 slices, but still that's too expensive for pizza, which is supposed to be a cheap food.
Still good though.
Don't be sad - you only have to wait like 45 minutes to get an Uber over here.
It's not that (it is) that long!
Favorite Memory: Night Market
The only Thai Food place in town that ever gave Le Thai a run for its money.
But it's closed now, obviously.
Every time we ever went, we were literally the only customers.
Even on a Friday night at like 5pm.
Which is a shame because the food was incredible - great balance of flavors, perfect use of spices/seasoning, high quality ingredients, etc.
What's that phrase, almost only counts in horseshoes and slot machines?
