Bellagio.
Oceans 11. There, I said it.Â
I think for most people, it's hard, if not impossible to separate the two.Â
Oh, and Bellagio Conservatory.
And need a "Top 10 Free Things to do in Las Vegas" recommendation (oh lordy here we go...) how about the FOUNTAINS AT BELLAGIO?
I think 25% of the contents of the entire internet are "Vegas influencers" parroting the same drivel about the fountains being a "Top 10" thing to do in Vegas. The other 75% is probably porn.
Don't get me wrong, all of those things are great. There's other stuff at Bellagio too.
But it's mostly those first 3 things.
The Bellagio Fountains spray water, for the un-initiated.
#beautiful scenary.
#fancy girl.
A few "Nevada State Flowers" decorate the bottom left of this picture.
Favorite memory - Yellowtail:Â
When my wife and I got married (in Vegas), we went to Yellowtail for Dinner as part of our Honeymoon.
We spent $300 on a credit card (which we have since paid off, and closed, along with about $225,000 of consumer/student loan debt, as of the date of this writing, thank you very much).
It was a truly amazing meal. Now this was several years ago, so your mileage may vary. But a few standout dishes were the beef you cook on your own hot rock at the table, some tempura battered sushi roll with tomato (one of the best bites of food I'd ever had up to that point), and the Sashimi/Nigiri served on a salt block.
I recently checked the menu and it looks like they've made some changes over the years (prices, offerings), but they don't care, if you're eating at Yellowtail, they assume you've got that Bellagio money.
If you look closely you can see "43 cents" under the words "Big Win". That's how you Vegas baby!!
It's art, don't you get it?
The Art of Richard Macdonald. Highly recommended. The fine details of these Cirque Du Soliel performers is truly World-Class.
This guy got a handpay for about $2,600. I didn't, but he did! Good for him.
Favorite memory - "O" Cirque Du Soleil Show:Â
The show is like all Cirque Shows, remarkable.Â
They always kick off with something unique and engaging, the feats of athleticism are absolutely world-class, Â and there's a very real element of danger.
If you only do one thing in Vegas, see a Cirque show, any Cirque show.Â
The water element of this show is magical, and the high-dives are probably the single craziest thing you'll ever see in Vegas.Â
Favorite memory - Bellagio Patisserie:Â
Home of the Chocolate Fountain (right hand side of this picture), and they used to make this divine Chocolate Brownie Raspberry Crepe - they didn't have it the last few times I've been, but man was it delicious.Â
Sweet, chewy eggy crepe, fresh raspberries, dense chewy bites of brownie, fresh whipped cream, the stuff of dreams.Â
Did you know the Bellagio Fountains get their water from a private well on the property, and not from Lake Mead?
Mysteries of Ra. This game is tight. Similar to Red Riding Hood or Little Red or something like that. It kind of has 2 panels and the game takes place across both panels. So it's kind of like getting two games in one!
Only place in Vegas I've ever seen it.
I know exactly what she'll say: "OMG look how skinny I was!"
Favorite memory - The Bellagio Conservatory:Â
Look for all the jokes I make about it, the Conservatory is pretty amazing. Here's a collection of pictures I've taken throughout the seasons.Â
These pictures probably run from about 2020 to 2025.Â
I don't have any from 2009, that's what I get for living here as a broke college kid. If I ever get a time machine I'll definitely go back and take a million pictures. That, and buy a $200,000 mansion in Vegas with my lunch money.
