Cosmopolitan. Cool kids call it "Cosmo", for obvious reasons.
She's a beauty, ain't she?
Let's go through the door that doesn't need to be opened - which I think is a Harry Potter reference. She meant the automatic door lol
Where'd the money go?
Favorite Memory: Desserts at China Poblano.
One night we just went here for Dessert, but we got like 3 things, and they were all phenomenal. The Tres Leches Cake was everything I ever hoped for, and more.
And the Terra Cotta Warrior was like Dessert and a show.
We capped it off with the Giggling Buddha, which was no slouch either!
Rick, there's a horny ocean man trying to pay me some money!
Favorite Memory: Art-O-Mats!
They have several of these Art-O-Mat art vending machines throughout the property. They used to be $5 and they had a variety of types of art pieces, like little clay figurines, or jewelry, or paper goods, etc. so it was always an adventure to see what you'd get for just $5
I still consider the Shoppes at Crystals to be part of the Cosmo. Or Aria I guess. Or both. Or neither, whatever works best for you.
Fun fact - the company who does all of the casino smells, Aroma Retail, says the Shoppes at Crystals has the same smell pumped in as the Luxor (both use Black Orchid apparently). I need to test that next time I do the room spray at home.
Favorite Memory - Say its name!
Bao Zhu Zhao Fu - and the Major shall be yours (mine)!
I thought we might win big (day before the Super Bowl), first spin I saw on the day was at Resorts World, guy won $2,400 - then we saw another guy at Planet Hollywood get a $5,000 handpay, so we spent all day hoping we might win too.
Jumped on this game on the way out, told myself I was going to tip the cab driver anything I won on the game, hit the Major for $900.
Still tipped the cab driver enough to surprise him, but had to keep a little bit for myself... Las Vegas is all about adapting and changing plans to go with the flow, after all!
I don't need Bob Mackie's Fantasy Goddess of Asia, I have that at home.
Favorite Memory: Haunted House Game.
This was her favorite game in all of Las Vegas, for a long time. And rightfully so!
It would do this cascading reels thing, but when you got the bonus the reels would grow and it had tons of cool spooky Halloween symbols.
I believe the minimum bet was like $.25 if I'm remembering correctly.
Sure beats the $.88 or $1.25 minimums of the games these days.
Played this game 1x ever, won a bonus on that 1 spin - that's how you Vegas baby!
It's like the slot machine says, "Don't stop (putting your money in) now!"
Lots of games at Cosmo used to revolve around busting ghosts apparently.
2 spins in, she wins Ski Lodge money!
We walk to Ski Lodge, and it's closed for a private event!
Such is life, in Las Vegas.
I guess.
It's like a reverse craps table! (where rolling a 6 is great and you're thinking "anything but 7!")
In her mischief era - touching and messing with everything
In my mischief era - touching and messing with everything
No complaining about how young and skinny you used to be. I won't hear it. I won't I won't I won't.
Favorite Memory: Last spin of the night.
On my last $5, ready to go home after a night of bad gambling at Cosmo - tossed my last $5 in this game for one spin, and hit for $300+, which I definitely needed.
Here's a few pics of the money going up!
The funniest part was we went back like 3 weeks later and the exact same numbers were still displayed, so I don't think anyone else played in the time since I did that spin, which was fun to see.
D-runk, just a bit?
My favorite tv show ever - been watching since it first came out! Ignore my terrible hairstyle. This was in my bad hairstyle era.
Favorite Memory: Wicked Spoon
Years later this is still THE buffet to try in Las Vegas!
My favorite combination of price, taste, variety, quality, unique dishes, etc. in a Vegas Buffet.
Want to see a lot of pictures of Wicked Spoon, like a lot of pictures? We got you covered!
I can tell by her hand placement, that everything is "fine".
This samosa had some kind of mango/apricot chutney that was simply divine.
I like that they have a nice mix of fresh items, healthy items, indulgent items, etc. - truly something for everyone.
Even the guy we saw get 2 glasses of juice, and a pear as his meal. Or the couple with 8 plates of crab legs and 3 cups of coffee. Or the people who eat 4x as much as we do. If you like to eat, you can surely find something you'll like here!
Like they say, it's allllllll good.
Best plate of food I've ever had at a Vegas Buffet.
This was at Thanksgiving, and the Turkey w/Chimichurri was heaven-sent.
They have the meats!
I just remembered, that Pumpkin Sage Gnocchi, pictured directly above the pizza, life-changing.
Really good chips & quac, and a pretty decent Bahn Mi Salad too!
I feel like everytime we go to Wicked Spoon, there is always one dish that's the standout.
This time, I literally couldn't shut up about these Sesame Sugar Snap Peas - think I ate like 3 bowls of them that day. Easily one of my all-time favorite dishes here!
The Usual Suspects - Wicked Fried Chicken, Angry Mac & Cheese, Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes, Elote Street Corn, etc.
Medieval Kings didn't even eat this good.
The only person who has ever eaten a reasonable portion of crab legs in a casino buffet?
She's mad, but I don't understand, there's food right there!
Can't forget about the mini-desserts. After all, that's why you have a separate, mini-dessert stomach, isn't it?
Each mini-dessert smaller, and fancier, than the next.
With so many well composed, artsy mini-desserts - it's easy to see why this is one of our favorite places to eat in Las Vegas!
Favorite Memory: Most unique games.
For a long time (IDK if it's the case anymore), Cosmo had the most unique variety of slots in all of Las Vegas.
There was an amazing mix of movie-themed games, licensed games, old school games, etc. for a lot of games, it was the only place in town that had that specific item (like the Haunted House, or Game of Life, or Anything But Six..., etc.)
This was back before all the games everywhere became generic Asian themed games, Huff N' Puff, and generic games with coins that go up to the top but don't actually do anything.
This section would pair well with Universal Horror Unleashed!
Her favorite way to play.
Remember when they had these egg-shaped chairs at Cosmo, before they get rid of them for, let me guess, "maintenance".
Have you ever had the taco-to-go pack from China Poblano? If you do, just bring 6 of your friends to help you eat it, because it is wayyyyyy to much food for normal humans.
Schma-doo-see.
See, you can win $100 at the Cosmo.
Favorite Memory: Ski Lodge
One of the coolest speakeasies on The Strip, very immersive feeling like you're in an actual Ski-Lodge during a blizzard.
Located....behind a secret door, near the Wicked Spoon Buffet.
So many penguins. Quirky. No Doubt.
There goes that quirk again.
Enter the Spiritual Car Wash, before entering the Ski Lodge. For Spiritual cleansing purposes.
Speaking of Spirituality, please refrain from making religious offerings to the artwork. Thank you.
Birthday amount voucher.
Favorite Memory: Kraw-Pow Pig
My gastroenterologist gave me this list of foods I can eat, and it had all sorts of ridiculous shit on there - Silverbeet Root, Krawpow, Chocktaw - like all these foods that don't exist that nobody's ever heard of.
So one night we saw this game in Cosmo called "K-Pow Pig", which was close enough to "Krawpow" for me to make fun of, so we played, and we won!
And everytime we won I'd say "Kraw-Pow", and we kept spinning, and we kept winning, so I kept saying it.
After all, it ain't stupid if it works!
Kraw-Pow.
