Atomic Testing Museum
This place is the bomb, yo.
Huh.
Back to the 80's Cafe
Super cool vibe in this place, as someone who grew up in the 80's with all the memorabilia and decorations brought back a lot of nostalgia - I was pleasantly surprised!
A legitimately fantastic burger! And the Tetris tots were perfectly crispy and salty, without being overly greasy. Highly recommended!
Barking Dogs
Blaspheme Boutique
I don't know if they still sell it, but this is where I bought my vials of "Lake Mead Corpse Water" back in the day when the news was big on all the bodies they found in Lake Mead. Not the ones they didn't find, just the ones they did find!
A must for any Vegas collection.
Blooming Buns
Brioche Donuts. $9 Brioche Donuts. Good Donuts.
Bonanza Gift Shop
Bonanza Gift Shop - if you they don't have it, you don't need it!
Bonito Michoacán
They're not afraid of citrus on their protein, and I like it!
Cemetary Pulp
The place is as weird as you'd think it is. And I like it!
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunting Kit.
Chicha San Chen
Heavenly. If you haven't been here, you gotta try it. And if you have, try it again!
Coffee Religion
Coffee, and Religion, but not in a weird way.
My wife is a coffee drinker (I'm not) and this place has her stamp of approval.
Discontinued - Eat (Fremont)
Hungry. Luckily, there's food nearby!
Gambler's General Store
Another religious pilgrimage, if you will.
Golden Tiki
Avert your eyes, lest ye be of appropriate age that is.
The aforementioned magical-mystical-tiki-of-chance-and-fortune.
Over 250 shrunken heads adorn this magical-mystical-tiki-bar.
Oh it's strange alright.
Backstreet's back, alright?
Hachi
First, good luck getting in this place, there was a line way out the door before they opened at like 5:30pm and it was packed like that all the way through our meal at 7:00pm.
Reservations are a must!
This is the spot.
I mean you know this place is going to be good when you first walk in...
They have carpaccio dialed in at Hachi.
The sauce is, unspeakably tasty.
A nice cold, slimy, vinegary, mountain yam and seaweed salad - genuinely compliments the other dishes extremely well, and the balance of flavors is spot on!
Duck.
Chicken with Citron Pepper.
Probably the best bite of protein I've ever had in my entire life.
Grilled, smoky, sweet, sour, tangy, salty, juicy.
Unspeakably tasty.
She always wanted a seaweed salad.
No for real, it's that good though.
Garlic, soy, citrus (ponzu, yuzu, who knows) - micro greens, flavorful red onions without tasting like an onion, the balance, perfectly.
As all things should be.
And literally 1/2 the price of some of the other places I've seen in Chinatown (like $13 for this - tuna or steak, etc.)
When the restaurant is fancy enough, you can eat the lemon slices.
What even is this?
Who knows?
Who cares?
Is the flavor perfectly balanced, and well complimented to the meal overall.
Absolutely.
Halloween Emporium & Haunted Tea Room
Plenty of spooky offerings for sale in here, Clark.
Horror Vibes Coffee
Plenty of spooky offerings for sale in here, too, Clark.
A surprisingly expensive cup!
IT Escape Room
My wife in her natural element.
Actual props from the films.
This attraction is done by Egan Productions, who work directly with the movie studios on these types of attractions.
Authenticity is through the ROOF, 10/10 must experience, it's like you're literally in the films themselves.
They also do the Blair Witch Escape Room, Fright Dome at Circus Circus, John Wick Experience at Area 15, Saw Escape Room, etc. if you're into this sort of thing.
Which I am.
Molly Tea
Nevada Chicken Cafe
Nevada Chicken Cafe.
Formerly known as the Nevada Chicken Roastery.
Or Nevada Chicken N Ribs.
Try to keep it up.
No matter what you call it - downright tasty. And the best ribs I've ever had.
Nutriente Pastry Studio
Went around Halloween, had to go for the Chocolate Skull, obviously.
Really high quality, fancy, seasonal, desserts - this was a mango coconut mango and it was phenomenal.
Honestly I'd put the quality here on par with Dominique Ansel, if not better.
And that's saying something!
Palatte Tea Lounge
She was hungry, not angry. There's a difference.
Probably.
Some kind of deep fried milk thing or custard or something - this was so good. Destination worthy. Crispy milk custard I think.
Jiggly. Honestly these need to be filled with something, it's fun but it's just a solid brick of gelatin kind of thing. A little bit over-hyped, but still worth checking out at least once, in my opinion.
Peppermill
Alright here it is, everybody wants the "Hidden Gem" of Las Vegas, this is it.
Hidden in plain sight, right next to a 4 billion dollar property (Resorts World), and a 5 billion dollar property (Circus Circus, wtf?) - that's how much Phil Ruffin wants to sell it for anyway, apparently.
Anyway, this place is like stepping into a time machine. It's got the vibe, the Fireside Lounge, some of the best drinks I've had in Vegas, huge portions, all around might be the pre-eminent Hidden Gem of Las Vegas, if you ask me.
This place is a vibe. I'd been coming to Vegas for like 15 years before ever stepping foot in here. That's how "Hidden" of a Gem it is! I never even knew it existed. But I'm glad I know now!
Pro tip: If you sit in the conversation pit in the Fireside Lounge, you'll feel like you're at your rich friends hot tub when you were a teenager!
Big Riviera vibes - but that makes sense, because the Riviera used to be right next door!
The DJ for the lounge (TV's).... has very..... eclectic tastes in music.
We'll just say that.
Pioneer Saloon
Stop by for the drinks. Not the food. But the drinks. About 30 minutes from The Strip - which btw did you know was named after the "Sunset Strip" in West Hollywood LA? Well, now you know!
Rosalie Le French Cafe
They've got the French cuisine / pastry thing down pat.
One of the top places in Vegas, for sure.
She's not mad. That's just how she is.
Stage Door Casino
Slot Car City
A fun old-school way to spend an hour, for a couple bucks, with 2 gigantic race tracks.
Sushi Neko
Beyond these doors, $35 AYCE sushi, where they come by to take your order every few minutes and the dishes come out lightening fast, even when the place is packed.
They have amazing sushi down to a science.
One of my top places in all of Las Vegas. And that's saying something.
I could eat 20 of these. Crispy Rice, fatty Tuna, Jalapeno, Sweet Sauce. It's oily, it's chewy, it's fatty, it's sweet, it's everything I've ever wanted in a sushi dish. Waiter, keep 'em comin'!
Look at the color on this, basically see through. No fishy smell, no aftertaste, just clean, premium, high-grade sushi here folks.
1 Mochi, because you know, dessert should be reasonable after all, right?
The Mint Tavern
The place is smaller than I thought. Nicer than I thought. Cleaner than I thought.
They said they get a lot of business for people waiting for their Golden Steer reservation time, so they stop in before while they wait.
Best video poker I've ever seen in Vegas as well - the machines are actually capable of winning, which was surprising!
The Vault Bicycle Shop
T-Mobile Arena
Goes together like nachos and basketball.
